Name: David Beckham
Birthplace: Leytonstone, England
Birthdate: 2/5/1975
Height: 5ft 11
Weight: 12st 2
Club: Real Madrid
Position: Midfield

David Beckham won a Bobby Charlton Soccer Skills competition at Old Trafford when he was only 11 years old. He signed as a trainee in 1991 and played for the youth team in 1992, winning the championship.

As a professional he spent a time on loan to Preston North End to gain valuable experience as well as picking up several Man of the Match awards on the way.

David became a regular member of the United team by the double-winning season of 1995-96. The following season saw David make his International debut, having already won caps at youth and under 21 level. He ended the season as PFA young player of the year and was second in the PFA player of the year poll.

David became a key player for Glen Hoddle's 1998 World Cup Squad, scoring one of England's finest goals by curling the ball round the wall and into the Columbian goal. He was the hero of the nation.

Four days later he went from hero to zero, being sent off against Argentina.

Since then, David Beckham has shown every football fan in the world exactly how talented he really is. In the 1999-2000 season he was voted runner-up in the World and European Player of the Year polls, second only to Rivaldo. He was also voted runner-up by the British public in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.

Off the pitch he has been equally as busy, marrying the beautiful Victoria Adams who gave birth to their baby boy, Brooklyn, in March 1999.

Congratulations to the Beckham family now David has topped his tremendous achievements with been captain of England for the world cup matches, but there was a downside as well Sir Alex dropped David towards the end of the 2000/01 season and there was much talk over weather David Beckham would sign a new contract for Manchester United or move abroad so we were all made up when David signed.

David then was very unlucky breaking a bone in his foot and every one in the country had one question, would David Beckham be fit for the World Cup in 2002 or not,i still think that it was still a massive blow for England that injury because we did not get chance to see Beckham at his best but he still brought us so much joy when he stepped up to take that Pen against Argentina which sent the country crazy.

When David got back from the World Cup the media was going mad about the Beckham's with stories about gangs plotting to kidnapp David's children and low flying football boots kicked by Sir Alex which made a cut above David's eye, everyday you would see him in the papers making the headlines for stupid reasons like going shopping or a new haircut.

This in my eyes was the downfall in his famous relationship with Alex Ferguson and the unthinkable came Beckham was sold in his prime to biggest rivals Real Madrid for a deal worth 25 Million Pound's all the Red Devil's are devastated losing such a key Player.
