End of Season Review

League One

Starting with the defending champs Arsenal who’s Managed by Hammy has continue to impress others in this season by Winning league one by a whole 15 points gap to Manchester United and also hitting 104 goals in this division alone and 37 goals against them, had they gotten to the league one cup final and it was snatched away from Macclesfield Town in a close fought final but Arsenal has got another piece of silverware to shine in there cabinet with winning the Knockout-Cup against Manchester United in a close fought final.
Top scorer:  Reyes with 31 league goals, picture right: Reyes pointing where he wants the ball

We come to our runner up in league one Manchester United they finally found there manager at last after a few bad season with previous manager’s and Phil aka Penfold (yes the one out of Dangermouse) had a very good season with them got them runners up in the division also being Knockout-Cup finalist to the league champs but out of the league one cup in the first round by no other then the league champs them self (hard luck lads) well at least there next season to come eh!

Top scorer: Rooney with 20 league goals

So that’s second place out of the way, here’s who finished third, high flying Macclesfield Town they start the season well with manager Sam Bradley who’s got them to the top flight a couple of seasons ago then the board members decided to call it a day with the last seasons Knockout-Cup winners didn’t retain there Knockout-Cup as got knockout of the quarterfinals and in the league one cup they came out as winners against the league champs arsenal in the final in a very high scoring final of all time in the SFTLA history (have the board members made a good decision of bringing in Clay half way through the season).
Top scorer: Parkin with 14 league goals

So fourth place when to Barcelona the Spanish giants in charged by no other then Jon who previously boss of the German side Bayern Munich takes over from women boss Clare who took barca to top level football Jon who has lots of skills on the top flight took Barca to finished fourth place plus reached to the quarter finals of the league one cup only to be knockout by defending cup winners Chelsea and reached to the Semi finals of the knockout cup to only be flatted by the league champs Arsenal good first season all-round for Barcelona.
Top scorer: Eto'o with 17 league goals, picture right: the Munich boss shows he had the chance for silverware this season that got took away from him

5th placed finishers is last season prem cup winners Chelsea had a hard season not only for finishing fifth in the league but failed to retain the league cup due to Macclesfield Town knocking them out in the semi final and another heartache for the Blues boss Colin going out in the knockout cup in the quarter finals Manchester United 4-3.
Top scorer: Gudjohnsen with 22 league goals

AC Milan had lost their manager in pre-season campaign, ex-manager Saif after being with Italian club for five season and decided to quit so in comes new gaffer Scorpio and his first season in the top flight, finishing sixth is a good place to stay in the top division plus also to go out in the semi final in the league cup to twice league champs Arsenal and to go out of he Knockout-Cup semi final by second place finishers Manchester united.
Top scorer: Crespo with 14 league goals

Bristol City who finished sixth this season had ups and downs from manager Marshy who saved he club from the drop down to the First Division with great comebacks with pure English pride. Cup campaigns follows on as there league when with ups and downs in the league one cup got ko’d by the twice league champs in the quarters but that was all thou in the Knockout-Cup same team, same thing happen a crushing blow to the city boys out in the second round this time (could next season city find there feet in the Prem).
Top Scorer: Roberts with 13 League goals, picture right: Roberts grabbing a goal there

7th place out the way, forward towards the bottom Four the strugglers of the division first up Atletico Madrid falls in to a play-off place for a last chance to stay afloat at the top end, but a disappointing end as a battle on with Bristol city and the end of the season to keep float but managed to stay up in the playoff battle game with up and coming Inter Milan, in there cup campaigns thou quarter finalists in the league one cup but then getting knockout by Macclesfield Town was a good battle to try and get past them and also quarter finalists again in the Knockout-Cup this time by Barcelona but its been a average sort of season for Madrid.
Top scorer: Torres with 17 league goals

Next team to face the drop is newly promoted back to top flight Liverpool managed by Nidgey Mozza, after a very good season last season to storm there way back to the top league division also being league division one cup holders finding there level hard this season to stay up (try again next season lads) as far as there cup campaign goes, out in the quarter final of the league cup by the hands of AC Milan and out of the second round of the knockout cup by the rivals Manchester United it’s a taste of a bitter lemon to chew on.
Top scorer: Cisse with 13 league goals, picture right: Mr Mozza looking very moody with his player’s performance on the pitch this season

Well finally the end of the road for Blackburn Rovers they was newly promoted this season with under manager Nat who got them promoted up to the top division last season for some outstanding play and some good goal scoring but that’s last season this season the top flight got too much for them and landed them self second from bottom of the table all season round in the cups its was the same story dump out of the knockout cup by Atletico Madrid in the second round and also dump out of the League One Cup by Italian Giants AC Milan in first round (Very hard luck there Rovers there always next year to bounce back up).
Top Scorer: Dickov with 9 league goals

A little added in for Rangers who was managed by Gaz who got the boot by the board early on in the season and the old firm club from the blue end of Glasgow couldn’t find a replacement and had to forfeit all there remaining matches even cup campaigns to finish bottom of the pack.

Well there you have it League One season review a big hand out to Hammy for keeping hold of top division for the second season running and being Knockout-Cup winners to make there double, plus due to the hardship Macclesfield Town had this season not only by losing a manager and bring a new one but gaining another trophy by getting league one cup.

League Two

Well League Two was a little more exciting than League One only a little a few change in managers some ups and downs for the division but manage to pull through one, a few favourites to win the league and one team still looking for silverware this season.

So we shall start like the league one review kicking it off with the league two champs Boca juniors who had a good tight end to the season as being under threat from Newcastle United to tip the top spot but mark boss of Boca Juniors had other plans and paid off with good team sprit, in cup form there finalists in the league two cup but in the Knockout-Cup fell victims to the league champs Arsenal.
Top scorer: Guglieminpietro with 7 league goals, picture right: show fans celebrating the champs

Well that’s league two champs out the way now on to Newcastle United was tip for topping the league or close favourite managed by boss Snakey (yes you know its me) the toon army was going for glory on tyne side still waiting on silver and boss Snakey still on the hunt for them a very close battle with title challenges Boca Juniors, plus there was treats from the likes of Bradford city, rivals Middlesborugh the Teesside of the northeast and outside chance of Italian club Roma but promotion to the top league is enough for the boss and the toon army as far as cup campaigns goes had a hard close running with Boca in the league two cup to go out and in the knockout cup got ko’d by the stars of Chelsea from league one (a good luck on top flight)
Top scorer : Shearer with 17 league goals  picture right : show shearer taking the match ball home

Third placed team who will be going up with Boca, Newcastle is another north east club Middlesbrough in charge by Richard who been with Middlesbrough for some seasons now was join favourite with Newcastle United for the League Two title, Boro had a very good start to the season and looked very strong until the slip up when in the mid-season where things when a bit pear shaped for the Boro they crashed out of the League Two Cup in the first round by Inter Milan and out in the Knockout-Cup in the second round by high flying Macclesfield Town but managed to save there bad fortune with a final promotion spot (what a good comeback to save a bad turn to the season).
Top scorer: Hasselbaink 15 with league goals

Forth team for a chance to go up in a playoff place to only to stay in the first Division to a lost to Atletico Madrid. So came to the San Siro stadium hosted by inter Milan (well really shared the stadium with AC Milan but still and nice stadium for a league two side). Previous boss Shaf who got the team to the top division last season had step down from the managers office and decided to go on a season long hard well earned break from the football side of things so the NFA and manager less inter came together and placed inter Milan in league two again for being manager less until new manager is in charge goes by the name of Si, well inter started the season not too brightly as seems was near the bottom and struggling but become to pick up mid season and cup runs came along in league two cup they are semi finalist after being beaten at home to Boca, and if you believe lighting never strikes twice on the same pitch in a cup campaign it did in the Knockout-Cup but only second round exit by Boca again (yes at home again how unlucky).
Top scorer: Vieri 13 with league goals, picture right: show Veron disappointed at the chance of going up to the premiership next season

That’s fourth place out the way now fifth place came to Bradford City was managed by ash who got a early dismissal by the board for not getting the results in that they wanted and they got in new Bradford boss to be a little tricky with his tactics is Tricky the new kid on the block after a disappointing start to the season but to miss out on a chance to go up is very bad luck. Cup campaigns for Bradford when good for a first season effort quarter finalist in the League Two cup on to be go out by one goal to Inter Milan and in the knockout cup came very early exit as they faced the league champions arsenal in the first round (unlucky in the league cup).
Top scorer:  Windass 15 with league goals

Sixth placed finishers is taken by another Italian club Roma, a very hard season for the boss Scatty (Scattini) who has been in charged of Roma for a good few seasons now had tough rival matches in his time with the club but nothing says about this season as it started the season well but something happen to Roma to end this bad (could this be something when in there pasta) cup runs went well starting with the League Two cup as they become winners in League Two cup to only not to claim the silverware by refusing to take it home but in the knockout cup crashed out by Spanish giants Barcelona ( unlucky there next season maybe ) just to add a bit more Scatty (Scattini) to be rumour of a move back to an English club along the lines of Millwall.

Top scorer:  Totti 6 with league goals

Well now to the bottom two starting with Juventus managed by Kiz who been with the club for a good 6 seasons there and thereabouts not a real title contender but a struggler to say the least but Kiz's side has picked up a few shocking surprises in this seasons campaigns became quarter finalist in the League Two cup after getting beaten by Roma and Knockout-Cup not Kiz’s strong cup to fall a victim to a top team in the first round by Atletico Madrid (will we see Juventus pick up from season to improve on the next so much time will tell ).
Top scorers: Del pierro with 5 league goals also Trezeguet with 5 league goals

Now to the bottom team of the all Burnley managed by Tavish unexpected to see Tavish’s side to be bottom at the end of the season a strong management from Tavish would see a mid table place at least but all when bad end for Burnley players came and go tactics didn’t work as well as they should something went wrong some where (I would blame the player for bad performance on the pitch) well enough of how they did in the league cup are a good point for Burnley nothing comes better than a good old cup run and League Two cup becoming semi finalist its not a bad thing but going out of the Knockout-Cup in the first round is a bury your head in the sand (if Burnley had any sand).
Top scorer: Blake with 7 league goals

That was league two things did go a bit up and down in this division but a close fought battle between the favourite to win the league two title but Boca nicked it under there noses so a big hand for mark who claimed the title

Well there you have it all teams in end of season detail a bit if you say but on to something a little more interesting like an interview with the AC Milan boss Scorpio.

The Interview

Pink says:

Well Mr. Scorpio in charge of the Italian giants AC Milan how was your first season in charge of them?

Scorpio says:

Well it was a season full of ups and down's to be fair. Started off facing the mighty Arsenal and from the words I had heard I knew it was going to be tough and it was. My boys took a beating, a nice welcome to the SFTLA and I have had some good wins from the lads. Got to the Semis of the league 1 cup, that was an achievement for me. Also go to the Semi finals of the Knock out cup. But after settling it has been a race to get out of relegation which I managed so all in all a good season for me. Finished mid table.

Pink says:

Well being new to the top flight and in a new club its always tough but the ex manager saif who was in charge of the club last season was there anything in the changing rooms you changed about?

Scorpio says:

To be honest I stuck with the diamond 4-1-2-1-2, that the boys had been using before I took over.

Used it all season not much room for tinkering as it got the job done in practice. And when it worked it worked great, got them to play a lot of width and get in the shots where ever.

Pink says:

Want was the relationship with your top goal scorer the on loan striker Crespo from Chelsea like?

Scorpio says:

It was a good relationship; he had no problems in competing against his original club. We have even had talks about him staying on next season, but we would have to see about that. His is more than welcome to stay his contribution to the goals is what kept us mid table.

Pink says:

Well that nice to hear what will be your next targets for the new season as new clubs are coming up with the likes of Newcastle United and Boca Juniors heading for the premiership next season?

Scorpio says:

Well basically ill be telling the guys to have a good pre-season. And try to hit off next season with a bang. A win to start is always nice, and I know there are some good teams coming up, Boca Juniors only lost 3 that’s pretty impressive. If we start on a low we will struggle to stay up. So it’s essential we concentrate on a good start next season.

Pink says:

Ok well good luck with the pre season there, will you be staying on with ac Milan until your contract runs outs or do you have other plans?

Scorpio says:

We will have to see, I wouldn’t mind staying on with the club. It’s been a good season with them, but if other jobs open up I might be tempted to take them. But as things stand I will be sticking.

Pink says:

Next season will ac Milan be wearing new kits in this forth-coming season or still under budget and sticking with the old one?

Scorpio says:

It would be nice to get out of those old rags, so we will see what we can come up with whether or not the board will let us cough up for a new strip.

Pink says:

Well I see you booked your trip out for a well-earned holiday going anywhere good?

Scorpio says:

Yeah we have given the team some time to spend with their loved ones and family. I will do the same until we have to start back for pre-season.

Pink says:

Thanks for being with the pink Mr. Scorpio and good luck for next season

Scorpio says:

No problems, thanks

Well there you have it I hope you enjoyed reading this and the pink will be back for the new season so keep your eyes peeled for you next issue
