1. When launching Fifa 2002, the program alert "DX7 Error Code:unknown (8007000e) File dx7\dx7dev.c,LINE 420" appears then exits
   Answer: Get the latest drivers for your video card as it looks like something is clashing in DirectX land which is usually either graphics or sound cards
   
   
2. My Fifa 2002 won't play as I have XP.
   Answer: Some people seem to be able to play Fifa 2002 in XP and some not. The main factor seems to be relating to the good old graphics card. Ensure you have the latest XP version of your graphics card driver loaded and then try again.

   Answer: This does seem to be a problem I have heard a few times. All I can suggest is for you to ensure you have the latest drivers for your Sound Card and the latest version of DirectX loaded.
   

Controllers

1. I can't play Fifa 2002 with my controller?
   Answer: Unfortunately there does seem to have been a lot of issues surrounding controller support in Fifa 2002. There is a patch under development by EA but I am not yet aware of when this will be released. Have you got the latest update from EA by running the "Check for Update" option? I believe this cured some controller issues. Only other solution I can offer at this point is if your controller comes with its own configuration software that you create a keyset for Fifa 2002 with the controls you require and try this.

Team Management

1. How do you assign integers greater than 1-7 to players' skill levels?
   Answer: With Fifa 2002 currently you only have the supplied player editor and you can not assign any values higher than 7. If hopefully FEd2002 appears then perhaps this may enable values higher than 7. This really depends if the game has been programmed to accept values higher than 7 at the end of the day.
   
   
2. I have noticed that the Netherlands are in the game but their players names say "No 18", etc. I just wondered if you have to unlock the players because the Dutch players are in their club teams but not their country?
   Answer: The reason a lot of teams in Fifa 2002 have players named "No 18", etc... is because the licences have not been granted from the relevant bodies. The Dutch league has given the ok but obviously not the national body. I must admit there does seem to be a lot more of this in Fifa 2002 than ever before. I am sure there will be some high quality roster updates available soon that will solve this issue.
   
   
3. In Fifa 2002 you can edit or create 516 players and then you receive a message which informs you you need to delete a player. How can I delete this limit?
   Answer: EA Sports have provided a limit to our editing capabilities from within Fifa 2002 this year. The only way we will get around this limit is when FEd2002 is released.
   

Gameplay

1. Player will play in wrong position?
   Answer: This is a recognised bug in Fifa 2002 and we are hopeful that EA will soon be releasing a patch to fix this.
   
   
2. How can I play with more than 1 team in Tournaments and Leagues?
   Answer: Unfortunately this seems to have been a massive oversight by Electronic Arts and all we can hope for is that the feature returns in there Fifa 2002 World Cup game which will be released in around April/May (confirmed by Electronic Arts).
   
   
3. Where is the training mode in FIFA 2002?
   Answer: Unfortunately there is no training mode in Fifa 2002 - for whatever reason EA Sports decided. This has always been a valuable way of learning the game in a none pressurised situation.
   
   
4. How can I play in the World Cup in FIFA 2002?
   Answer: Unfortunately Fifa 2002 only allows you to qualify for the World Cup and not play in it. This will be available in the next version of Fifa World Cup 2002 which should be available around April/May 2002.

1. Where can I find the EA Graphics Editor?
   Answer: This great editor can be obtained from the NBA Live Series Center and follow the link in the left menu to the "EA Graphics Editor".

   Answer: WinZip is the most commonly used program to open Zip files, which are the dominant file type in the Fifa patches scene. You can download the latest version from www.winzip.com.
