FIFA Street 2, Real Life |
Our good friend Chris over at our partners FIFA Benelux has posted some cool FIFA Street 2 movies.
The movies were taken during the Dutch FIFA Street 2 launch event which took place next to the Amsterdam ArenA, this location is one of the 10 locations which is playable in the game. 7 players, who modeled for about 80% of the moves in FIFA Street 2, showed their skills on the pitch. Lenny, Edward, Issy, Nelson, Ruud, Soufiane and Kenan took part in the motion capture in EA’s studio in Vancouver a few months ago. FIFA Benelux have captured their best real-life moves on cam and published the movies. Click here to see both movies and we bet you recognize loads of their tricks in the actual game. News Reporter:

Soccer Gaming's FIFA Street 2 Review |
Our partners over at Soccer Gaming have produced their FIFA Street 2 review already. In their words:
"The original FIFA Street was a blight to EA Sports BIG’s popular 'Street' series, a concept that has worked in the past for Basketball and American Football. Despite the disappointment, the concept has survived and EA deliver a much-improved effort with FIFA Street 2." They score it: | • | Gameplay | = | 7/10 | | • | Graphics | = | 8/10 | | • | Sound | = | 8/10 | | • | Game Modes | = | 7/10 | | • | Overall | = | 7.5/10 | In summary: "FIFA Street 2 is the game that the original FIFA Street should have been. It has solid gameplay, albeit much different to football as we know it. Progression through 'Rule the Street' mode is fun, although it’s disappointing there is no online mode. Good graphics and great sound round out what has been a solid addition to EA Sports BIG’s 'Street' series". Pros - Tricks galore
- Great variety of animations
- Soundtrack
Cons - Repetitive gameplay
- Not for football purists
- No online mode

FIFA Street 2 Review |
Macca's Sports Gaming Page has already posted a review of FIFA Street 2 for the Xbox.
In Lavan Chandran's words: "The original FIFA Street was one hell of a disappointment for me. I was (and still am) a huge fan of the NBA Street series and was expecting that level of arcade-style fun to be applied to a soccer title. Unfortunately, the game was an unmitigated disaster with cheap, skill-less gameplay that was devoid of any depth, and most importantly, devoid of fun. A year later and EA Sports BIG release a sequel that is vastly superior to the original in every way, however, it’s still a title that has its problems – most notably, the fact that FIFA Street 2 seems to be more of an arcade-trick game that has soccer elements, than an arcade-soccer game that has trick elements." The Skinny: - The sequel to 2005’s crappy FIFA Street goes a large way in rectifying the numerous problems of its predecessor
The Good: - More skill-based gameplay
- Impressive visual presentation
- Excellent audio
- Lots of players and game modes
The Bad: - Still a large element of CPU cheating
- More of a trick game than a football game
- No online mode

IGN's FIFA Street 2 Hands-On |
Over at IGN they have posted the first FIFA Street 2 preview we have seen with EA senior producer Simon Andrews.
Following the failure of the original FIFA Street, the question Andrews needed to ask his team was, "What makes a good street-soccer game?" First, they looked at what the original FIFA Street did well. It was a good idea and didn't take itself too seriously. But there was no depth to the gameplay and trick list, the goalkeepers were complete sods, and the single-player game was shallow. After addressing these concerns, Andrews said that the upcoming FIFA Street 2 will be the real "base" from which to move this franchise forward. Check out the full interview plus all their screenshots over at IGN. The Signature Moves of FIFA Street 2 – Part 1 |
Over at TeamXbox they focus on part 1 of their series on the Signature Moves of FIFA Street 2.
There are hundreds of moves that can be performed in FIFA Street 2 and most of these are over-the-top tricks that any player can perform if a user masters the controls, but only the superstars can perform their signature moves immediately with simple execution of the game controls. The 25 true superstars in FIFA Street 2 are capable of performing their signature moves even with a novice at the game controls, and game players earn greater trick points each time the move is successfully performed in their quest to Rule the Streets (advancing in single player mode). TeamXbox take a look at a handful of the insane signature moves to be found in FIFA Street 2, including those from superstars like: - Freddy Adu, USA
Phenom: He flips ball up to left knee then moves it to his right foot, and in one sweeping motion, knocks the ball behind his left leg and dashes left past defender. - Ronaldinho, Brazil
Gaucho: He juggles ball between his feet, then passes it up to his right knee, where he fakes inside and knocks the ball out wide past his opponent and runs on to it. - Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal
Hot Stepper: He juggles ball between his feet, then crosses his left foot over the ball and knocks the ball forward with his right foot. - Wayne Rooney, England
The Bulldog: While juggling, he knocks the ball into the air with his right foot, fakes taking it off his knee and instead puts head down to bring a sprint while taking ball on right foot. - Thierry Henry, France
Telepathy: He juggles ball on right foot up to left knee, passes to his right knee, double bounces, then passes ball across his body to left foot and begins to sprint. - Omar Bravo, Mexico
Encore: He juggles ball from right foot to left knee, then feints left while tapping the ball to his right, past the defender. Peep the moves, descriptions, and the exclusive screens over at TeamXbox's Signature Moves of FIFA Street 2. Look for Part 2 of FIFA Street’s Signature Moves next week!
