Sweetpatch Version 1.2 is Released

Today we bring you the brand new version of your Sweetpatch MRA version 1.2. With this new version comes 4 great new features for you:
  1. Unzipping of MRA Compliant Zip files straight into the MRA Patches Folder using the new "Unzip Wizard"
  2. Help provided on how to make best use of your Favorites
  3. Auto-Create of Favorites Directory Structure to give you an example of how to set up patches to be used with your MRA
  4. The much awaited "Patch Previewer"

The 2 main features of "Unzip Wizard" and "Patch Previewer" are in response to 2 of our most asked questions:

  1. How do I use downloaded patches with the MRA?
This new wizard does this automatically for you as long as the patch is MRA Compliant, i.e. it includes the Fifa directory structure within the zip file
  2. Screen shot of new Patch Previewer featureHow can I see what is included in the Patch I have just downloaded?
The Patch Previewer now enables you to view the contents of most .fsh, .big and .abg file formats. There are a few issues with some of these files which we will be addressing in a future release but generally it works very well.

We hope you enjoy these great new features and to show the information we collect from you is valuable we have included a league table of the countries from which the most downloads of version 1.0 were made which makes interesting reading.

Sweetpatch MRA version 1.2 will be released this weekend

That is correct, you are reading this right! We will be releasing a brand new version of the MRA this weekend which includes the new "Easy Unzip Wizard" which helps you install downloaded zip files ready for use by your MRA. This has been out with beta testers for a week as version 1.1 and we have only received back favourable comments.

As an added bonus we have a brand new feature that not even the beta testers have seen which will be included when it goes on general release this Friday. Hence why the next version will be 1.2. We know you will enjoy this as it has been the number one request we have received for added functionality to the MRA.

Coming soon - the Scotland Stars!

Ramon Vargas, the lead developer for the highly anticipated "From Then to Eternity" patch, has the following news for us all:

"I regret to inform the fans expecting From Then to Eternity that the patch will be delayed until FEd2001 is released. However, the research team will continue its task of researching classic teams so development hasn't fully ceased.

However, we'll make this worth your while... The Sweetpatch MRA team has enlisted the help of Scottish kit master Ian Black to make the kits for a new patch by the name of "Scotland Stars." This will be a patch much like Invierno Infierno, except it will be on a Scottish Premier League theme, with new graphics, turfs, kits, rosters, and everything you would expect to live the Scottish league to its fullest.

The patch has entered the development phase, so much so that the first batch of screenshots should be available very soon! With this technique, we will have the hardest part of From Then to Eternity in progress while we release a tribute to our Scottish brothers!"

As soon as we have more details of this great new patch it will be posted here.

Happy New Year to you all

Well, what a year 2000 has been for us here at the MRA site. We hope you have enjoyed everything we have done for you and we look forward to sharing an even more successful 2001 with you.

As a special treat for the new year we have upgraded the site so it now has total cross browser support as we realised with the original design we had excluded Netscape users. This was not an intentional move and we hope you can now enjoy the site along with everybody else. We have tested the site with Internet Explorer version 5 and 5.5, Netscape 4 and the latest version of Opera. If you find any issues with the site please inform me so we can improve it for you. The only known issue is the positioning of the Java news ticker in Netscape and Opera, if anyone knows how to address this then please contact me.

We have today also installed a brand new version of the Flash Navigation Utility which provides direct links to the information from within its screens. Enjoy this as we can now start to change this information regularly for you. Soon this will bring a whole new dimension to your Fifa gaming experience!

Enjoy the year with us and as today progresses you will find many news updates.
