Giggs into Inter?
In another non-denial from Manchester United's chief exec Peter Kenyon, he said of Inter Milan's interest in Ryan Giggs: "It's too soon to say whether we would even consider a bid, and all we want to do at the moment is concentrate on this season."

Kewell's non-commital
Harry Kewell's agent says the Leeds player is in no rush to discuss his contract at the club which runs out in 16 months. Cue transfer rumours linking him with Liverpool?

Everton's dock plans are rocked
A statement released by the club concerning plans to move to a new development at King's Dock fans believe that the chances of leaving Goodison are looking more remote than before.

'Here's where you start paying...in sweat'
Kevin Keegan is hoping Robbie Fowler's intensive two-week training regime will start to pay dividends.

Spurs robbed of Keane
Spurs forward Robbie Keane is set for a spell on the sidelines. He strained knee ligaments in the side's recent 4-1 victory over Sunderland.

Not the ticket for Gills
Gillingham chairman Paul Scally is apparently furious that 500 tickets for Gills away game at Portsmouth were returned to Fratton Park and sold to home fans. The club is said to be holding an internal investigation on how the blunder occurred.

Blades swoop for Owls winger
Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has signed winger Owen Morrison until the end of the season from Sheffield Wednesday.

York 'on the verge of extinction'
It is understood that at least £60,000 is required to fund the forecast shortfall between income and costs for York City from 23rd February to 15th March and, as it stands, no funds are currently available.

Keano

Alex Ferguson says he believes that Roy Keane is a changed player.

The United manager believes his captain's days as an all-action midfield are gone and said that Keane has adapted to become a more responsible and defensive player.

"That Roy Keane is gone. We don't need the old Roy Keane. Not at that age, because he is never going to last."

Keano

But Ferguson is backing the former Ireland manager to succeed in his new role and play for another five years - and said the old Roy Keane was fast approaching his sell-by date.

"If you keep asking him to run from box to box you are not going to get it. He can pick his moments, he can drive forward at the right time, when the space is in front and he has someone around him. You never stop anyone doing that but you don't do it every five minutes."

"Roy has always been a box-to-box player. He depended on running ability and power. He is obviously a tremendous player in terms of passing the ball and tackles, he is good in the air, quick to see things and read the game - but you cannot keep on doing that.”, Fergie added.

I love this club pt.27
Alpay is ready to give his all for Villa. A few weeks ago he said he was off to one of the biggest teams around but there's been no firm bids for the player. The lack of interest from other clubs has nothing to do with his latest comments...

Gullit for Fulham...again
He was tipped to take over from Kevin Keegan several years back but now Ruud Gullit says he fancies the Fulham job should Jean Tigana leave in the summer. Whether he'd have much money to play around with is another matter entirely...

A conflict of interests
Fulham forward Steve Marlet has confirmed what many suspected; Fulham's not a happy place at the moment. He revealed on his website that: "The context at Fulham is difficult and it's perturbing for us to work in these conditions."

It's good to talk
Agustin Delgado will have talks with Southampton to sort out his future at the club. According to Delgado's brother, the player was upset that nobody remembered his birthday.

Robinson blazes in for Saddlers
Portsmouth's Welsh midfielder Carl Robinson has joined Walsall on loan to the end of the season after finishing his current loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.

Jewell seeks transfer gems
Wigan boss Paul Jewell has revealed that he may dip back into the transfer market to strengthen his squad after it was reduced to just 17 senior members following the departures of Dave Beasant, Ged Brannan, Lee Ashcroft and Scott Green.

Fans table bid for takeover
York City's Supporters' Trust continues to press ahead with its community-led Offer to save the club from extinction. The Trust's offer is now the only one 'on the table' for the Administrator.

Owen: 'I'm lacking confidence'
Michael Owen has admitted he's going through something of a crisis in confidence. He told liverpoolfc.tv that when he scores he is showered with a little too much praise but when he's off form the criticism can be a 'little excessive'.

Get Bent
Despite saying he wants to stay at Ipswich, striker Darren Bent is now attracting the attention of Everton boss David Moyes.

Putting their best foot forward..
The Watford Supporters Trust are organising a sponsored walk from Brighton to Watford. It could be the biggest fundraising event yet by a Supporters Trust.

Samways snubs rain for sunshine
Vinny Samways has turned down the chance to play for Walsall to play out the season with Las Palmas.

Boston go Balmy
Defender Stuart Balmer is set to sign a permanent contract with the Pilgrims after Oldham agreed a severance deal with the player.

Chelsea get the Arse

At the weekend Graeme Le Saux said: "If we could avoid Arsenal all the way, including the final, that would be great." You just knew what would happen next - Chelsea travel to Highbury in the sixth round of the English FA Cup.

The draw has thrown up 'great coincidences' (copyright, John Motson):

  • Sheffield Utd knocked Leeds out of the Worthington Cup and the two will meet again at Bramall Lane.
  • David Jones was forced to stand down from his job at Southampton to fight a court case. Now he returns to the Saints as an innocent man with Wolves.
  • Watford meet Fulham or Burnley. Watford's Ray Lewington is a former Fulham player and manager.
  • Arsenal-Chelsea could be another Saturday lunchtime game because of the Champions League.

World League Patch update

Over at Soccer Access Ariel and the team have posted plenty of news this week on the forthcoming World League Patch.

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

New Intro Cinematic
The screenshot of the second intro cinematic that will be included in World League patch is now available. Yes! Now there will be two intro cinematics in the patch. The first cinematic is the one that was included in the video they released a few days ago, and now this new one that will show players like we usually see on TV before an international match, linuep to hear their national anthem.

New Clock
They also have a screenshot of the new clock that will be included in the patch.

New Substitution Cinematics
You are lucky that now we can enjoy substitution cinematics for the game. Unfourtunatly the player that is substituted can not be shown in the cinematic cause as well as the substitution is made this player is deleted from the game (that´s why we see that black screen saying "Subtitution-Loading"). Anyway Ariel believes that we will have great cinematics for substituion and one great feature is that if you change a player before second half the substitution cinemtatics will be shown!

Keep updated with all this news of the World League Patch over at Soccer Access.

Gunrunners have eye on Egypt

Click for larger imageArsenal have asked for permission from the Egyptian FA to attend their clash with Denmark on Wednesday, with a number of players certain to come under the gaze of Gunners officials. There could well be a couple of Danish players who catch the eye, with Dennis Rommedahl and Jon Dahl Tomasson two prominent figures, but it is believed that a number of talented Egyptians will also come under scrutiny.

Ajax star Mido will be the most high-profile Egyptian on show, and he has earned rave reviews for the Dutch champions. The striker was unsettled at the Amsterdam ArenA earlier in the season, but has now adapted to life at Ajax. The 19-year-old is one of Ajax`s most prized assets, but a bid from a major club such as Arsenal could prove tough to resist.

Less well known talents are also expected to come under the microscope, with Al Ahly`s Hossam Ghaly sure to be a prominent figure. The youngster has earned rave reviews recently for both club and country, with the likes of Barcelona and Nantes expressing interest.

Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is always looking at bringing talented youngsters to Highbury, and Ghaly will look to impress the watching scouts against the Danes on Wednesday.
