Fantastic new Old Trafford G3 Stadium

Soccered.com have informed us that after 8 months of hard work YJ has created a near perfect replica of Old Trafford. To celebrate Manchester United's centenary they have created a stadium which is more than 95% accurate. In Robert's words:

"As a fan of Fifa since the start I can honestly say this is by far the best stadium ever created for the game. Fans of all teams will appreciate the beauty of the stadium when they play."

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

'Old Trafford Century' is a G3 Stadium built from scratch using all new structures and textures. The stadium was built with:

  • 95% accurate structures
  • photo-realistic textures with details such as:
    • all accurate 4 stands
    • dugouts
    • scoreboards
    • roofs
    • Stretford End banners
    • lighting
    • adboards
  • new technology used in creating crowds. They are no longer symmetrical and uniformed and this new approach gives a more realistic effect.

The stadium comes compatible with all graphics cards and can be used in all weather conditions. If you are a fan of Manchester United, or FIFA in general this is one download you have to have. It is only available from Soccered.com so I would suggest getting your copy now.

  • 2 beautiful stadiums
They have two more beautiful stadiums. The first one is the famous Madrid Arena Bernabeu, and the second one is the stadium where Panathiniakos go with full power and strength Apostolos. Both stadiums are very well constructed.

Hot News - Polish FIFA Patch is out now

On the 20th of April 2002 history was made for Polish FIFA fans and the computer games resellers in Poland. That Saturday earning hundreds of fans visited two major FIFA sites in Poland at www.fifaserwis.com and www.fifapolonia.pl. These are the two major Polish FIFA sites that joined their efforts to release the biggest FIFA add-on in Polish history. After several problems and delays, they have managed to release a very good add-on for FIFA 2002.

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

In Reigon's words:
"We managed to create the first fully professional image of Polish Premier League season. The ambient and feeling is perfect matching the "standards" at the stadiums. At the moment the specific ambience is fully complete with the Audio Add-On to the patch, which contains chants and melodies from Polish Premier League games, and the sounds should really be censored ;)... The perfect matching rosters are one reason more for those who do not play FIFA 2002 but like to watch soccer games to look and try the new patch. It's simply the best add-on ever in the Polish FIFA scene."

The popularity of the patch revealed itself in the first 24 hours after its release. Over 6,000 people downloaded the files, and in the first minute after release 150 people started downloading it! Now for some of the patch features.

The complete patch is the main FIFA Patch and the Music and Sound Add-on which is the bonus they promised:

  • the Polish League with all correct rosters, tactics, strategies and players look and feel...
  • 16 teams from Polish Premier League and 2 from the second League (Lech Poznan and Orlen Plock)
  • fully translated text section of the game including buttons, banners and the whole layout
  • original kits with all sponsors for the players and correct referee uniforms
  • five Polish league stadiums (Legia, Widzew, GKS, Gornik Zabrze and Amica)
  • Polish Canal+ TV channel layout as seen on TV
  • new backgrounds for better feel and look a'la Polish league
  • four second league teams (Swit Nowy Dwor, GKS Belchatow, Szczakowianka Jaworzno, Gornik Leczna)
  • 26 banners and commercial pictures in several combinations as seen in Polish stadiums
  • the most important changes and transfers in other non-Polish leagues, missing national teams (Senegal) and so on (all data used for that comes from the "Pilka Nozna" Magazine)
  • Polish National Team with correct rosters, jersey numbers and tactics
  • and many more things like shoes, balls, camera man, etc...

The Audio and Music Add-On contains:

  • chants and small-talk of the Polish soccer fans
  • four new jingles at the start of a game
  • 18 new music tracks played after scoring a goal, and 4 after a red card
  • "We are the Champions" music after winning a competition in league or cup

Wonderful, isn't it? Some other brand new info, news and of course the patch itself are posted at all times at www.fifaserwis.com/pfp - official site in Polish and English language. Also, full details in the Patches Database.

Also, they are searching for mirrors for their patch files because of very intensive use of server bandwidth. If you are able to assist then pop over to their site and send them an e-mail.

Michael Owen Backup

Gerard Houllier, Liverpool’s manager, reserved special praise for his striker Michael Owen after the 2-0 win over Derby County.

Houllier praised the striker for coming back from the disappointment of missing chances in Liverpool's exit from the Champions league at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.

Michael Owen Backup

"After the chances he missed against Leverkusen, he has come back to score at Sunderland, then for England, now these two," said Houllier.

"He was an inspiration for England and now he's got more for us. And he could have had a couple more too. He was hammered by critics for missing those chances in Europe but he's mentally strong and confident about himself.

"He's very sharp and strong and he knows that if he misses chances there will be more around the corner. It was so unfair to have a go at him after what he contributed to the five trophies we have won."

Unlock Secret Teams in World Cup 2002

Excellent news from Soccer Gaming. They have just discovered that each time you win a World Cup a new bonus team is unlocked in the Friendly mode of the game. In Matt's words:

"Having just won my first World Cup (after days of trying mind you) I was excited to read that a "European All Stars Team" had been unlocked. I am unsure as to exactly how many bonus teams are in the game, but you can be assured there will be more to come."

Take a look at the starting line up of the All-Europe team as well as an action shot of David Beckham celebrating a goal for his new team in the screenshots over at World Cup 2002 Online.

Hopefully there will be even more secrets to discover in World Cup 2002 as time goes by.

Roy Keane - fit or not?

The Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has dismissed the claims that Roy Keane is suffering from a serious knee injury as well as a hamstring problem.

Roy Keane’s Injury

The Reports says that Keane was to undergo a scan on possible knee ligament damage that could rule him out of the rest of United's season and the World Cup 2002.

But Alex Ferguson rejected the claim, insisting: "It's a hamstring injury, not a knee injury. If we get to the Champions League final on 15 May Roy will play."

Roy Keane's agent, Michael Kennedy, also insisted Keane would be able to play in the World Cup, which begins at the end of May: "Roy told me on his return from Spain that he is confident that he will be available for the World Cup finals."

After The Champions League Match against Deportivo, which Keane was injusred at, Sir Alex Ferguson said Keane had a hamstring injury which would rule him out of action for up to six weeks.

But after all, it was then suggested he also had a knee problem which was potentially more serious. He was scheduled to return to the hospital on Friday and the club should know the extent of the damage at the weekend.

EPL short on money

Arsenal will be forced to sell six players this summer, that’s according to their chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

Short On Money

Hill-Wood said that the effect of ITV Digital going into administration would spread to the Premiership and that clubs would have to tighten their belts.

He also warned Premiership players not to expect pay rises this summer in an interview with the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "There will be a knock-on effect on the Premier League," ,Hill-Wood said, “I think even in the Premier League there will be players and staff who will be cut.”

"We might let half a dozen players go at the end of this season. One or two players, like Lee Dixon, who is 38, and Tony Adams, may not have much longer to go.

"I don't know what Adams wants to do. Some of the players released will still be on contract. This is a period of retrenchment for football. It has got to be. We've got to the limit of our spending. A lot of big clubs are struggling."

Hill-Wood did not name other players who could leave, but there have been question-marks over the futures of Sylvain Wiltord and Kanu. The club are determined to hang on to Patrick Vieira, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Hill-Wood said that Premiership wages would not be going up this summer, despite David Beckham reportedly being set to agree a £90,000-a-week contract with Manchester United.
