Kit Assistant is coming

Click for larger imageWhile Ariel keeps working on the Kit Raptor 2GK, he will soon release this great tool for patch makers over at Soccer Access.

Kit Assistant will list all kits that it finds in a folder. With just one click it will inform you about the team that kit belongs to, type and format and and a small view of the kit is displayed!. So no need for EA Graph or KR to check if the kit is right. Also when you click on a kit you can import, export or delete it.

Kit Assistant also checks all Kits ID in that folder and fixes them when 2 or more kits have the same ID. (so it solves the problem when two kits from different teams have the same ID and both teams wear the same kit).

Keep an eye here when this utility is release by Soccer Access.

Please note: the Kit Assistant does not yet work with 2GK kits (that will be supported in version 2.0).

Liga Chilena 2003

If you are a dreamer that hopes to be able to enjoy the chants, the shouts, the official ball of the match and everything that surrounds a Chilean soccer game, then prepare your senses as the best site for FIFA in Chile FIFAChile.com have officially launched their patch that modifies the "Simulator of Soccer"; FIFA 2003.

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

For this patch they have also collaborated with Ariel Santarelli, for many people the best patch editor of FIFA around the world, so the quality of it promises to be incredible.

FIFAChile.com has thought about everything, from the official ball of the national game to one copy of the Fixture Schedule for 2003. Here we bring you the extensive list of changes that you will be able to experiment with a click or two of your mouse:

  • Fixture: Thanks to the latest edition technology it will be possible to play the Liga Chilena 2003 in the real dates of the national championship. The Liga Chilena 2003 modified the Championship Club, which will ensure that the match is most similar to the Chilean real match, in fact the match will be 90% equal to the real tournament.
  • Real Appearance: Selected between all the faces that FIFA2003 brings which closely resembles the reality for each player of the league, which gives the effect of an almost real appearance.
  • Gameplay: Included more, for example, offside and possession of the ball on the part of both teams (human v/s computer) as if you had a new version of FIFA.
  • Modified Celebrations: Some celebrations have been eliminated for more entertainment. Now after each goal cinematics of celebration like in previous FIFA's.
  • Chants: "Sale León" "Campeón hay uno solo se llama Colo-Colo" "Que se paren los cruzados" These are only a few of the songs that the Liga Chilena 2003 will bring.
  • Popups: One of the great new features of this League is that also the interface within the game has changed.
  • Squad Lists: Updated all the 16 teams in the First A of the National Tournament.
  • Menus: A new and redesigned interface for the game.
  • Shirts: All the updated shirts of Liga Chilena (version 2003). These include the copy of each home, away and goal-keeper (in some cases also is included international shirt), in addition to 3 different types from customized numbers. The "mini-kits" or images for the selection of shirts are also included.
  • Adboards: Real publicity of the Chilean stadiums to accompany the games of the national championship.
  • Referees: The official uniforms that referees use in the national tournament.
  • Flags and Banners: Feel yourself in the stadium with flags and banners for each of the teams.
  • Official Ball: The ball used in the national tournament, the Umbro Orbit.
  • Easy Installation: Thanks to the latest technology the Liga Chilena 2003 uses an installation and easy uninstall which allows you to add and to clear out patch without problems or complications. Aside from previous Liga Chilena comes in format Tango System, format which allows you to execute Liga Chilena from another separate icon to the one of the FIFA2003, which produces the sensation to have 2 games. Liga Chilena 2003 does not modify your FIFA2003 but simply adds this patch.
  • All Leagues: Liga Chilena 2003 does not modify any League, but is simply added to the game. This way you will not lose any league, team or players from the original game.
  • and more...

Go grab your copy of this top quality patch direct from our Patches Database and then visit FIFAChile.com to check out their additional screen shots and information regarding this wonderful patch.

EA SPORTS Travel Europe to Capture Team Chants

This news was extracted from EA SPORTS Fifa Football 2003 Website and Soccer Gaming.

There are certain rituals that have become synonymous with football, such as parading the team’s colours, meeting with friends for a pre-match chat and buying a programme. However, none are so unified and as intimidating to the opposing team as singing along to your clubs chants. An army of tens of thousands of supporters making known vocally their love for the club is a truly integral part of the football culture. The FIFA Football Development team identified this as an area they see of adding great value to the new EA Sports title.

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

To fully capture the local spirit and culture, the FIFA Audio team in collaboration with Soccer Gaming, have tirelessly been on a European tour in the past couple of months. In each port of call (England, France, Spain, Germany & Italy) numerous audio sessions have been taking place with the fans so they can make their voice heard in game. The results have been filtering back in to the team and they are confident that they will create some truly hair-raising audio on a much larger scale for FIFA Football 2004.

EA SPORTS would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended the chant sessions. In particular Lior Fengas, Fabio "Rimo" Rimoldini, Christian Rojo Garcia and Daniel Kaltenthaler who spent many hours helping EA contact the chanters themselves. A complete list of those who attended along with some additional photos from the sessions can be seen at Soccer Gaming.

The FIFA Audio team have let us get our hands on three of the chants in MP3 format. This will give you a good idea of the quality of the recordings, and the emphasis EA SPORTS are putting on creating a truly realistic football experience in FIFA Football 2004.

Download Chant Recording examples:

Keep an eye here for all the latest Fifa 2004 announcements, especially as we get closer to E3 in May.

ECP Mega Utility Day

ECP Wonder Boy Hercules has prepared some fantastic new Utilities for all FIFA fans out there. Here is what they have in store for you:

ECP DBI
The first DBI editor is upon us. No more frustration with the Creation Centre or long agonising wait to install a package. Access Editing? Massive tables, thousands of records, 0s and 1s, confusing columns. So, what does this DBI editor do. It does exactly what the name suggests.

It edits DBI (rosters) files right off, no need for troublesome pkg files, mdb file etc... etc... The best thing is you don't need CC, so no colour problem, and also you won't lose saved games!

However, this is only the first version, and some bugs might occur, but all in all, just backup your dbi files, and you should be fine. Remember to report any bugs you find, it helps them improve the program!

Here's a summary of what's in and what's not:

  • Editing of all player attributes, information, name
  • Editing of all team attributes, kick takers, lineups, captaincy, stadium assignment, kits assignments
  • Editing of team names, squad numbers, formation etc etc
  • Editing of competition names
  • Transferring players
  • Creating players

What's not:

  • Creating teams (can be added easily, but left out, so they can isolate possible errors, will be in next version)
  • Creating competitions (later on)
  • Changing teams in competitions (later on)

You can give all your feedback at their forums and they will be more than happy to listen to you.

LocLook
A bit overshadowed by the ECP DBI Open Beta release, but still an extremely useful utility. It allows you to edit .loc files which contain in-game texts. You can use it to customise FIFA to whatever language you want.

However, the most important use of all is probably to change those horrid competition names such as the EFA Trophy. You can also use it to change music track info.

And it's included with a search function, so just type in the text you want to change, search it, and change it! A very useful utility to use in conjunction with ECP DBI.

ECP Font Manager
A small but very useful utility to change all your favourite .ttf Windows fonts into FIFA 2003 format.

ECP Chant Importer
The ultimate utility to import your favourite chants for your favourite team...or even your favourite player! Unlike some other rivaling chant utilities, this would not erase originally installed chants, but add to them, so that you can have as many chants per team/player you want!

And as for more, these chants when installed are separate chants not one long chant.

GoFSH! 1.1
After the release of GoFSH at the end of 2002, they have now brought you version 1.1, which supports multiple SHPI images FSH files.

With this program (after you associate fsh files with GoFSH), you are able to quickly view FSH files in the time of a double-click!

This is a fantastic set of work by Hercules and well worth a visit to our Fifa 2003 Download Boutique where you can obtain links to all these great new utilities.

Sweetpatch's Soccer Snippets

Becks back for Highbury
David Beckham has got the all-clear to face Arsenal on Wednesday as Manchester United for the title showdown.

Any requests for Blue Moon...
The final Maine Road game against Southampton will be followed by a concert from The Doves. It had been previously reported that Oasis would play which apparently came as news to them. Meanwhile Joey Barton's signed a new deal.

Malbranque considers his future
He's been linked with Liverpool and doubtless a few others will come into the reckoning with his agent suggesting the imminent departure of Jean Tigana from Fulham will make Steed look elsewhere.

Storm at the Palace
Ron Noades is preparing to sue Crystal Palace. The former Palace chairman reckons the club owe him £140,000 in unpaid rent and a further £23,000 in costs. But current Palace chief Simon Jordan reckons its Noades who owes.

Turn in, tune in....
Not so long ago there was calls for Notts.County fans to boycott Radio Nottingham over perceptions of a bias towards Forest. The station has hit back claiming few Second Division clubs receive such good coverage.

Bugged out
A bug is threatening Grimsby's hopes of avoiding relegation with players falling over with a debilitating illness. Paul Groves quarantined Blundell Park at the weekend and cancelled training yesterday to prevent it spreading.

Premiership XI - The Season's Worst

Over at Football365.com they have released a funny article today which I thought might bring a smile to your face (or a tear depending on your allegiances).

With the relegation struggle really hotting up (except for Sunderland, obviously) it seemed a good time to present reader Andy Taylor's 11 of the most hapless Premiership players this season…

Here's a possible worst XI for this season. If only they'd have been able to combine their efforts, then surely they'd have been able to beat Sunderland's spectacularly unimpressive total of 19 points in the league (so far.)

Goalkeeper: Peter Enckelman
The toast of Birmingham fans everywhere. I'm sure I once heard someone say that he was the next Peter Schmeichel. I don't quite see it somehow. A season to forget for the big man…

Defender: Michael Gray
Didn't this guy once play for England? (Mind you, what English left back hasn't?) Clearly the 'expert' coaching offered by a certain Mr Wilkinson has had a profound effect on Michael. Still, he can rest assured that despite being in the First Division next season, seeing as he's one of the only English players who can kick a ball with his left foot, Sven will be on the blower before too long...

Defender: Pascal Cygan
Bought by Arsene Wenger as 'the next Tony Adams'. Oh dear. He plays, the Gooners lose. Pretty simple, really...

Defender: Titus Bramble
Does this one really need an explanation? Consistently crap at the back for the barcodes. Anyone who saw his attempt at marking Ruud Van Horseface on Saturday ( to pick just one!) will understand this one. I can only think that Sir Bobby had one of his classic moments when discussing which centre back to buy last summer with his staff. "Let's go for the big lad who plays at the back, Campbell, Bramble, whatever…"

Defender: Thomas Repka
To be fair I could have picked the entire Hammers back four, but that would have just been too obvious, so I'll just go for this fella. Did he really play in Serie A? How? His efforts on match day have been hilarious to all but the most ardent Hammers fan.

Midfield: El-Hadji Diouf
Signed after winning the African Player of the Year award. What at? Tiddlywinks? Spitting? Another victim of the modern day management theory of playing your centre forward on the right wing, left wing, actually pretty much anywhere apart from his real position. Not the only red who's end of season report will read "Must do better. Or leave."

Midfield: Robbie Savage
Ok, so he's not had a bad season, but nobody likes him, so he makes the team!

Midfield: Paul Okon
Another one of 'El Tel's' masterstrokes. David Batty must be scratching his head as to why this guy keeps him out of the team. Instrumental in Leeds' performance on the pitch this season, which is pretty close to unforgivable. Who needs Vieira when you've got this guy "protecting" the back four.

Forward: Emile Heskey
Poor old Emily. He gets plenty of stick, but I'm going to give him some more anyway. For a guy who spends more time sat on his arse than Stephen Hawking, this guy has actually won more trophies than Alan Shearer. Surely his time on the England scene is well and truly up now thanks to the emergence of Roonaldo.

Forward: Peter Crouch
What's this? A great big centre forward signed for an over-inflated fee, who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo? Don't worry Peter, you'll be another one who can expect a call from Sven any time! Just when Villa fans thought they could forget about Ian Ormondroyd.....

Forward: Diego Forlan
If Fergie was going to persuade one of the Sex and the City birds to nip over for a game of footy, he could have at least brought one of the fit ones. Following in the famous footsteps of the likes of Brazil. Alan, that is, not the current World Champions.

Manager: Howard Wilkinson
How scary is it that for several years, this man has been responsible for the development of England's finest young footballers. No, seriously, he has! Managed to take Sunderland from being a pretty average team with one or two good players to the worst team in the history of the Premiership. Pretty impressive I'm sure you'll agree.

Chairman: Peter Ridsdale
Come on, nobody else was even in the running, were they?

Do you think this is funny, unfair? Post your comments in our forum and create our own list of "The Season's Worst XI".

Weak resistance from reds
The red card Sami Hyypia received last weekend means he will miss the Merseyside derby on April 19th. Gerard Houllier is no more than 'hopeful' Stephane Henchoz will return for the match.

Etherington for Everton?
Matthew Etherington is reportedly stalling on making a decision as to whether to accept an offer of a new two year contract at White Hart Lane. The news may well alert interest from Charlton and Everton.

No return for Rovers keeper
Blackburn Rovers keeper Alan Miller has been forced to retire from the game. The former West Brom number one has been suffering from a back injury.

Can't go, won't go
Coventry boss Gary McAllister says he's struggling to offload certain players who are a burden on the wage bill. Despite enquiries from other clubs, McAllister revealed he's been unable to loan out Julian Joachim because the player wanted to stay put.

What's it like to see a crowd?
A study into attendances in Division Two shows that Luton lead the way with 68% of their ground filled for home games but Port Vale comes off worst with an attendance percentage of just 19.7%.

Hello new boy
Orient fans will doubtless be clamouring for their club to sign Wayne Purser on a long-term. He scored a hat-trick for the Os in his first match on loan from Barnet.

Cornish boy comes 3rd in Table Bar Football National Finals

That's my boy! As reported previously, my ten year old son Daniel Witts from Polzeath represented Plymouth Argyle FC in this years national final for Table Bar Football at Elland Road, Leeds on 27th March and did fantastically well coming 3rd out of over 10,000 kids from around the country.

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

This national tournament is sponsored by international toy company Smoby and brings together all the countries professional football teams in heats around the UK.

The national finals were held this year at Elland Road, Leeds on 27th March. Daniel was pitted against the 8 best national players representing regions from around the country: Bury, Gillingham, Kidderminster Harriers, Notts County, Plymouth Argyle, Port Vale, Scarborough and Southend United.

Before the matches commenced the boys were treated to TV interviews, meeting 2 professional players from Leeds United and a photo shoot on the Elland Road pitch to create a great build up to the competition. They were all going to receive a video of the day as all the matches were also videoed.

Screenshots Click for larger image Click for larger image

The teams were split into 2 groups of 4 and each team played each other in a “first to 10” match. The winners of each group would meet in the final. Unfortunately Daniel finished 2nd in his group losing his only game of the year. In his group he had the following results:

  • Plymouth 8 v 10 Gillingham
  • Plymouth 10 v 1 Scarborough
  • Plymouth 10 v 3 Southend

In the final Port Vale beat Gillingham to take the honour of National Champion.

So Daniel had for the 3rd year running made the area final (winning it this year in Swindon), and for the first time he made the National Finals, could he go one step further and win the National Finals next year and fulfil his dream?

To cap it all off Daniel was invited to Plymouth Argyle yesterday for their match v Colchester where he was presented his trophy on the pitch at half time by Stevie Adams. Many thanks to Argyle for all their assistance in making this a great year for Daniel.

Who's been a naughty boy?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned Jermaine Pennant he must change his attitude if he wants a future at Highbury. Pennant broke curfew while away with England's Under 21s. You'd never catch Ljungberg doing that sort of thing.

Turfed out of Turf Moor?
Some 14 players are sweating on whether they will get their contracts renewed at Burnley this summer and keeper Marlon Beresford is one of those who thinks he might be looking a for new club. This should be even more interesting after their 4v7 home defeat against Watford yesterday!

'One Size' Fitz Hall
Bolton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Oldham defender Fitz Hall with a fee of £750,000 being touted around. He also boasts arguably the best nickname in the game, affectionately known as 'one size' Fitz Hall.

Caught on camera
A film company will be using crowd shots from a charity football match at Darlington this Sunday for a forthcoming flick. Among those playing will be Corrie's Kevin Webster, Brookie's Tinhead and Hollyoaks' Tony Hutchinson. Hospital balls aplenty?

Portugal 2 v 1 Brazil

Matias has sent us his report of the recent match up between Portugal and Brazil:

Portugal won tonight by two goals against one from Brazil, in a friendly game. Deco the Brazilian, player of FC Porto is now playing for Portugal international squad and he was the one who scored the winning goal.

Portugal after 37 years, since the World Cup of 66, not winning a match against Brazil, finally beat Brazil, this time by 2-1. Besides this match not counting for a real cup, but it was worth a lot for the Portuguese squad, because Portugal has now a new coach, Felipe Scolari, the ex-coach of Brazil squad and which lead Brazil to their International victories and Deco the FC Porto fabulous forward and which was now recently added as a player of the Portuguese International squad.

A night also marked by Rui Costa's 31st birthday and a fabulous match, played by this real magician of soccer.

The stadium was packed, besides the rain, the crowds we’re very enthusiastic, mainly due to the reason that Portugal started better and scoring first at 6 minutes, by Pauleta, after an excellent cross from Sergio Conceição. The second goal was scored by Ronaldinho Gaucho from a penalty kick at the 64 minutes. And the decisive goal came after a free kick, which was scored magically by Deco…

The man of the match was without doubt Rui Costa, as he was always present in all the 90 minutes of the match and showing why he is such a great player.

A return to Cottage Industry?
Fulham may reconsider a move back to Craven Cottage on a scaled-down model of their original plans. But will Fayed, who has left the country after a row over taxes, still be as committed to funding the club as he once was?

Hucker's Luck?
Darren Huckerby is keen to make his loan deal at Nottingham Forest permanent. Given recent reports suggest that Keegan needs to ship out a few players, he may well be keen to sell.

Blades target promotion to slash debt
Promotion to the Prem could earn Sheffield United around £20M - maybe more if lucrative sponsorship deals are struck. But with the Board almost certain to prioritise debt repayment, will fans be in for a shock at how much is left over for players?

Finalists clash over ticket allocation
Bristol City and Carlisle are embroiled in a war of words over ticket allocation for the LDV Final. City want more having sold 36,000 tickets compared to Carlisle's 13,000.

Back of the net
Swansea City have hit back at a report earlier this week in The Guardian concerning the future of official websites.

Roo do you think you are
Sven-Goran Eriksson looks set to keep Wayne Rooney on the bench for the game against Turkey, perhaps somewhat concerned that he would be breaking his word to Toffees boss David Moyes.

Oh what an atmosphere
Michael Owen is hoping the atmosphere at the Stadium of Light will help the England team. He said: "You hear every shout from the crowd and some weren't that nice. It's nice to play in a full stadium and makes for a better atmosphere."

Save, save, save
Grimsby Town's players who are out-of-contract will have to take a big pay cut if they want to stay at Blundell Park. This decision affects eleven players at the club.
