FIFA 07 News - Drama unfolds as league favourites are toppled

FIFA 07 News - Drama unfolds as league favourites are toppledDarren Tee AKA Dazfeeder is seemingly unstoppable with an amazing run of form in the XLEAGUE.TV FIFA 07 League. Playing at the top of his game, he is holding an outstanding win percentage of 94%. Darren has pried Stephen Murphy AKA smegg1980 from second place and given himself the breathing room of 16 points from third. It appears Sonny Walton AKA Sonman will have difficulty holding onto the top spot if Darren continues his rampage towards first place.

In further league news, Ben Reed AKA Benzilla has made a similar rise to the top half of the table. Benzilla has claimed 5th place, pushing Jay Buchanan down to 6th position. Benzilla is currently enjoying a good run of form after winning 7 of his last 8 games.

With the introduction of such talented players to the league, it goes to show nothing can be predicted at this early stage of the season. To join in on the action, simply register to XLEAGUE.TV, visit the league homepage and sign yourself up the FIFA 07 League. It’s not too late to test your skills for real.

Viewers of XLEAGUE.TV will be able watch Sonman showcasing his skills with other league members in televised FIFA 07 league games only on The Match, premiering this Saturday 30th June @ 7pm.

FIFA 07 News - Players battle on as Sonman stretches his lead

FIFA 07 News - Players battle on as Sonman stretches his leadIt’s been an unpredictable weekend in FIFA 07 for most of the table. The top three have yet to be unbalanced, with Sonny Walton AKA Sonman still leading with a seemingly unstoppable run of form, which begs the question; Is anybody able to provide a slide tackle to snatch the top spot?

Mark Taylor AKA Original Pingu, has been working hard in 4th place to close the gap on Jay Buchanan. He’s now only trailing by 2 points, and could find himself a title contender if he maintains his winning streak. Cameron Brown AKA Camo_Cam_Kills had a turbulent weekend reaching joint fourth place at the start, only to be knocked back to joint 7th by Sunday. It appears that gamers in the middle of the table are battling constantly to shoot higher up the league.

Think you can do better? League sign up is still open, and the gamers are waiting for your challenge. Signing up can be done simply by logging into your XLEAGUE.TV account, going to the league home page and clicking to join the FIFA 07 League.

Viewers of XLeague.TV will be able watch Sonman showcasing his skills with other league members in televised FIFA 07 league games only on The Match, premiering Saturday 30th June @ 10pm.

Well, apart from download graphically enhancements to please your authenticity needs and ‘essential’ licensing agreement you have in your mind to avoid all that of which we don’t speak of that comes with little licensing, I’m over here in good old England creating what is and will be the most fantastic bit of gameplay you’ll get out of your 07 game!

World Evolution 4 is the most advanced of the lot. Sadly you’ll have to wait for it, but fortunately you’ll have it before FIFA 08™ hits the stores (and bloomin’ right too I hear you say). Players’ this is the most realistic simulation gameplay update by far for FIFA 07™.

Football News - Man vs machine in football fan battle

Football News - Man vs machine in football fan battleWhich is a better football fan - man or machine? That's a puzzle BT researchers are working on.

The researchers, working at the Adastral Park labs near Ipswich, have developed an algorithm that tries to spot the most interesting bits of a football game - the goals, corners and rows with the ref.

The idea is that in future the algorithm - in development for about five years so far - could be used to generate football highlights packages automatically. In the longer term the technology could be used to help computers spot emotions, so a machine could recognise funny or sad parts of a video, for example.

To make sure the algorithm performs correctly, it has to be tested against the actual responses of a living, breathing human football fan. Both the computer and the human test subject watch the same game of football. The responses of the human guinea pig are monitored by their skin conductance, then that data is compared to what the computer picked out as interesting.

BT broadband applications researcher Dave Chatting, part of the team that conducts the experiments, said: "You sweat when you find things exciting."

PES 2008 News - Pro Evo 2008 Unveiled

PES 2008 News - Pro Evo 2008 UnveiledPro Evolution Soccer 2008 is the name of this year's instalment in Konami's chart-topping football series.

The game's due out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC-DVD, PS2, PSP and DS in the autumn, the publisher has said.

This year the focus is firmly on bolstering the series' next-gen credentials - with a new AI system called "Teamvision" spearheading that offensive.

Teamvision will enable opposing teams to learn and adapt to your tactics, rather than simply reacting in canned fashion. It's the ultimate riposte to players who work to expose weaknesses in the game's defending.

"With the new Teamvision AI system, we truly believe that we have elevated the game to a new level," says producer Shingo Takatsuka.

"The movement of players off the ball, coupled with the total control given to the player, creates the closest simulation of real football to date. We really hope everyone enjoys our evolution. I promise it will be worth the wait."

There's no mention of a "McClaren option" (you know, turning off adaptability), but Konami says the opposition's rate of response to your behaviour will depend on the players' quality.

That obviously ties in with the game's existing strengths - particularly the manner in which certain players are able to motivate their team-mates to respond in certain ways, holding a strong defensive line or sprinting forward when they gain possession.

Other changes hinted at include improved close control, while set-piece control will allow you to select the number of players in the defensive wall and their position. Expect more options on the offensive side there too.

And of course the game will make significant gains graphically as Konami strengthens its grip on the next generation of console formats. Advanced facial animations, shirt-pulling, sweat marks and perhaps Vaporub (who knows?) will be apparent.

Elsewhere, next-generation versions will get a proper Edit mode to make up for last year's disappointingly under-specced Xbox 360 release.

We have 6 new images of PES 2008 and have therefore created a special new PES 2008 Gallery for you to enjoy by clicking here.

FIFA 08 News - Wii is as powerful as original Xbox

FIFA 08 News - Wii is as powerful as original XboxFIFA 08 producer Tim Tschirner has said that he believes the Nintendo Wii matches up to the first Xbox in terms of power.

"It's about as powerful as the original Xbox," he said. "The video hardware unfortunately is not as powerful. There's just a couple of key things that you can do on Xbox like shaders which you just cannot do on the Wii... Overall though it's pretty much what the original Xbox was."

Tschirner went on to observe that he has found the Wii "very straightforward to write code for", adding, "I think from a creative point of view it's been awesome working on this platform because there's obviously stuff we couldn't do before."

He also praised Nintendo for attempting to broaden the market with the Wii by appealing to people who don't normally play games.

"That's a bit of a philosophy that we wanted to get into this game as well - that people don't have to be afraid of finding the control scheme overwhelming or overly demanding," Tschirner explained.

"And then on the flip-side, we wanted to make sure that long-term FIFA players would find everything they love in the game still in place."

FIFA 08 is due out on Wii this autumn.

La Liga News - Beckham bows out with Liga title

La Liga News - Beckham bows out with Liga titleDavid Beckham has capped his Real Madrid career with a league title.
Beckham, 32, has been in Madrid for four seasons, but Sunday's 3-1 win over Mallorca sealed a first major Spanish honour for the US-bound midfielder.

Real came back from behind with two goals from Jose Reyes, who is on loan from Arsenal, and Mahamadou Diarra.

It is the club's first La Liga title in four years and they edged out Barcelona, who beat Gimnastic 5-1, because of their head-to-head record.

Beckham, who is set to join the LA Galaxy, was not on the pitch at the final whistle having been replaced by Reyes, but he joined the raucous celebrations at the Bernabeu.

"I couldn't have dreamt it any better," said Beckham. "It's been about winning the title for the last six months - and we've deserved it tonight. It's been an incredible experience, but all I remember now is the great things. Winning this tonight now puts to bed everything else."

The England star was joined by his three sons on the pitch and was given an emotional send off, as was Brazilian left-back Roberto Carlos, who is joining Fenerbahce after 11 years in the Spanish capital.

But for much of the night it looked as if Barcelona would be the team and city celebrating come the final whistle. The defending champions ran riot against relegated Gimnastic and were 3-0 up at the break with goals from Carles Puyol, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

Meanwhile, Real were struggling and there was a growing edge of anxiety among a Bernabeu crowd that included actor Tom Cruise and tennis star Rafael Nadal. Fabio Capello's team had an early scare when Juan Fernando Arango slammed a shot on to the Real woodwork in the opening minute and they fell behind when Fernando Varela broke the offside trap to score on 17 minutes.

And injury was added to insult when leading scorer Ruud van Nistelrooy hobbled off after 33 minutes with a hamstring injury. After Beckham had curled an effort on to the Mallorca crossbar, Varela had a chance to put the visitors firmly in the driving seat, but he poked his effort wide and Real pounced on their lifeline.

Beckham, struggling with an ankle injury picked up on England duty, made way for Reyes who side-footed home with his first touch from Gonzalo Higuain's pull back on 68 minutes. Diarra's header evaded goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya and defender Angelos Basinas before trickling over the line, before Reyes curled in a delightful third from the edge of the area.

While Real left it late with those two goals coming in the final 10 minutes, Barcelona were always in control at Gimnastic, with Messi and Gianluca Zambrotta adding second-half strikes. However, their efforts proved to be in vain as Real kept their advantage at the top of the table, courtesy of a 2-0 win at home over the Catalans in October and a 3-3 draw at the Nou Camp in March, to land their 30th Liga title.

Sevilla started the final day with an outside chance of scooping the silverware, but they lost at home to Villarreal 1-0.

At the other end of the table, Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo were relegated with Gimnastic.

CEP 4.1 hotfix + problems at the end of season

CEP Career Expansion PatchAfter the mail reports about language problems (except English) with team names from Austria 2nd, Guatemala, Hong Kong and New Zealand, I have uploaded a hotfix that resolves problems with languages: it is the 4th part of the installer (system files) updated, so you can download just the 4th part again to resolve these issues with languages.

About the problem with the game hanging at the end of the season: I've tested personally that the game DOES NOT CRASH, it just needs about 5 minutes to calculate everything for the next season, so just have patience :)

You can find the 4th part updated in the Downloads page.

Seems that for some reason we forgot to put in the credits page one of our most important collaborator: Didicito, whose work has been precious and wonderful for more than one year: we're very sorry for the fault and I've modified the first page of the credits to include this precious and dear friend of the CEP project.

CEP project news

CEP Career Expansion PatchHi everybody, I've been very out of the scene during the last month due to very personal duties: most probably will be hard that I will be able to return with all the time needed to be at chief of the CEP project for the future, so during these days I'm trying to read as many mails received as I can, working a bit on fixing some aspects of the CEP 4.0.

I will contact Esterry to check the possibility for a new kit-addon release and then we'll start organizing the work of the many updaters for the future Fifa 2008 version of CEP.

Most probably we'll try to convert the CEP in a VERY wide-open project, finding a way to make the database completely open and accessible through the Internet so we can share the work of the many CEP fans for better precision and capacity of updating.

Considering the huge dimension of the database of CEP I'm sure that all the community understands how is impossible to keep all this work updated without a wide collaboration of many football fans.

During these months I'll consider finishing the great Mini Heads update on which I was working before my long break.

See ya soon everyone on these pages for further updates. Ah, a quick note: I strongly suggest to try and use last NK gameplays for a better CEP experience ;)

A quick note about end-season freezing problem: the number of teams and players has grown so much that the game just needs more time at the end of season for its calculations: the game seems hanged but it's just calculating: give it about 5 minutes and everything should go ok.

La Liga News - Ruud rescues Madrid title hopes

La Liga News - Ruud rescues Madrid title hopesDavid Beckham's hopes of finishing his Real Madrid career with a Spanish league title remain alive after an extraordinary night in La Liga.

With two minutes left Barcelona led Espanyol 2-1 at the Nou Camp and Real trailed 2-1 at Real Zaragoza.

But Ruud van Nistelrooy's second equaliser of the night, his 33rd goal of the season, secured Real a 2-2 draw.

Then Espanyol equalised in the final minute at Barcelona to leave Real still on top going into the final round.

Sevilla, who were held 0-0 at Mallorca, also remain in title contention but trail Real and Barca by two points.

The two leaders have the same points tally but Real, despite an inferior goal difference, are ahead because of their superior head-to-head record.

Victory in their final match at home to Mallorca next Sunday will see Real clinch their first title in four years, while Barcelona travel to relegated Gimnastic and Sevilla host Villarreal.

FIFA 08 News - Wii Hands-on

FIFA 08 News - Wii Hands-onThe team over at IGN have been lucky enough to test out an early version of FIFA 08 on the Wii at EA Canada and have their feedback for you.

The Wii version of the EA Sports soccer title was in very early form at the company's press event in Vancouver last month, so a lot of what they saw was in very prototype form that would be getting a good amount of tweaking over the course of its continued development.

In their early playtest, we got a peek at what the company plans for the Wii version of FIFA Soccer 08. The game will use much of the core assets and engine from "last-gen" versions of the game, so the main game will look on par with what the other teams are doing with the PlayStation 2 version of the series.

There will be specific changes - for example, the default camera will switch from the familar side-scrolling television style presentation to a very NHL Hockey top-down, vertically scrolling movement. The decision to go to this camera was so that a lot of the Wii-centric motion controls wouldn't feel "off" since they're sensitive to your character's position.

For example, if you want to pass the ball to a teammate, it's a flick of the remote in the direction that you want to send the ball - flick it to the left or right to pass the ball left or right, or flick it forward to pass it ahead. Kicking the ball towards the goal used a "scooping" motion to mimic the foot - dig it hard and fast and the ball will go in that direction. If you need to throw the ball in from the side, raise the Nunchuk and Remote controls over your head and make a tossing motion...easy as that. Slide tackles were also applied to the motion controls that makes it as simple as flicking the wrist when you want to go for the ball.

Other than the "toss in" motion, the pass and kick controls were very touchy and somewhat disconnecting in our early playtest, but the team is still tuning the game to really give Wii owners a good, unique experience. And judging from the brand new screenshots, the experience isn't just going to be applied to the Wii controls.

Check out the video we posted yesterday which gives updated progress with the Wii version of the game.

GamerZine News - Halo 3 headlines issue 7 of free Xbox 360 magazine

GamerZine News - Halo 3 headlines issue 7 of free Xbox 360 magazine360Zine Issue 7 is now available for download and features the most eagerly awaited two games of the decade: Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV.

Halo 3 promises to complete the best selling games trilogy in style, and the recent beta has given gamers the chance to see for themselves some of what Bungie has in store. In a five page extravaganza of previews, fan feedback, multimedia and video, 360Zine delivers the most comprehensive roundup of what’s new.

"One of the great things about the GamerZines is that unlike standard games news websites, we’re not driven to deliver news instantly. We can take our time with a game and deliver a considered verdict, which is exactly what we’ve done with the Halo 3 beta," says Editorial Director, Dan Hutchinson. "It gave us time to appreciate the full balance of the new weapons and maps, as well as other gameplay elements, and we got to ask dedicated Halo fans what they made of it. Issue 7 is a must-read for gamers, and of course, the magazine is completely free so it’s a no brainer for Halo fans, especially when they see our competition to win a copy of Halo 3 Legendary Edition."

As well as Halo 3, there’s also a quadruplet of quadrilogies in the issue with a catch up on Liberty City goings on for Grand Theft Auto IV fans, with the promise of a full new preview next issue and also Call of Duty 4, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Devil May Cry 4.

Reviews include Colin McRae: DiRT, Forza Motorsport 2 and Shadowrun and the magazine has its usual Xbox Live Arcade and Community sections to finish off this packed issue.

I have launched it today with a band I have only recently discovered, Biffy Clyro, and are loving their latest single "Living is a Problem Because Everything Dies" taken from their 4th album "Puzzle". They are a Scottish rock group who utilise a quiet/loud dynamic, constructing songs that can range from a whisper-quiet pick on the guitar, to huge walls of noise with massive distortion and crashing drums. Check out the video from their latest single below.

If you enjoyed this song then I recommend you check out their latest album Puzzle available from our Sweetpatch Shops (UK, US, World) by searching on the "Music" category and typing in the words "Biffy Clyro Puzzle".

We will bring you regular additions to this new Music Channel, but please do join in the fun and add all your favourite tunes to the group and let's see what type of musical collection we can create.

FIFA 08 News - Master the Skills required to Play Like a Pro

FIFA 08 News - Master the Skills required to Play Like a ProEA Sports have revealed the tremendous depth of gameplay features in FIFA 08 for Xbox 360™ and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system which will create a football experience that matches the complexity, finesse and beauty of the real-world game.

FIFA 08 challenges players to master the skills required to play like a pro football player. Fans around the world can experience the same highs and lows of real-world players and tackle the challenges they face on a daily basis. FIFA 08 allows you on the pitch to defy the odds, perfect your skills, elevate your game and rise up to win glory for your club.

Next-Gen Gameplay Engine
The FIFA 08 next-gen gameplay engine, built to maximize the power of Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3, delivers animations and ball control that is so responsive you feel like you are actually on the pitch. Footballers in FIFA 08 now benefit from A.I. so smart, it features a 35-point decision engine which enables players to process multiple decisions and reactions in real-time. The A.I.’s dynamic ‘Threat Map’ system captures the excitement and realism of football. Players are now aware of their surroundings, reacting authentically to threats and opportunities to make intelligent football decisions.

Shooting System
Now with the FIFA 08 shooting system you can enjoy even more control and precision in front of the goal to become a true marksman. The next-generation ball-striking engine calculates shot success by combining an almost infinite number of different contexts, including ball spin, pressure from defenders, player attributes, and even air pressure to recreate the drama and unpredictable nature of shooting.

Be A Pro Mode
For the first time ever, fans playing FIFA 08 will face the pressure to improve their game that real-world players endure every day. A new play mode called Be A Pro locks you in the role of a single player and challenges you to master the same disciplines as a real football player—from positioning and tackling to reading the field and passing.

This year, FIFA 08 takes its second step into the next-generation. Last year, we kicked off the next-generation by introducing a new engine and stunning ball physics. This year, we are introducing new gameplay, new modes and a new feeling of football finesse,” said Andrew Wilson, Executive Producer for FIFA 08. “Be A Pro forces you to think and react like a professional player - you will experience the whole range of emotions players go through during the course of a game. This feature, along with advancements to our gameplay engine, will deliver on our promise of authentic football gameplay.

Skill Moves
FIFA 08 introduces skill moves with a true next-generation organic ‘building-block’ system enabling you to combine tricks and skill moves together to recreate signature moves from the real-world superstars or define your own style of play. Animations can be interrupted at any time to transition into a new move, enabling you to read and respond to the defence, just like real life. Master the skills to break down the defence, elude your marker and lead your team to victory.

Interactive Leagues
The award-winning Interactive Leagues feature that was first introduced in FIFA 07, now makes its debut on Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3. Represent your club online against your rivals throughout the season in the F.A. Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division. When they play, you play.

The Interactive Leagues is the most successful online tournament we’ve had for the FIFA franchise and I am thrilled to bring it into this year’s next-gen game. As a Leeds United fan I was pained to see Manchester United win the first Interactive Premier League last season. However, I’m looking forward to redressing the balance this year through FIFA 08,” said Joe Booth, Producer for FIFA 08 on Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3. “One of my favourite things about Interactive Leagues is how it connects me and the development team with the FIFA gamers via our weekly in-game pod-cast. We have just broken the one million downloads mark and It’s been a fantastic way to interact with other fans, share experiences and answer questions.

Licences
In addition, FIFA 08 is dramatically more real and exhilarating with the inclusion of 620 licensed teams, 30 leagues, and more than 15,000 players making it 20% larger than FIFA 07 on current generation formats.

FIFA 08 is developed by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C. and is scheduled for worldwide release this autumn on the:

  • Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft,
  • the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system,
  • the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system,
  • Wii™,
  • Nintendo DS™,
  • PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system,
  • PC and
  • mobile.

EA will reveal the specific features available in the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP system, PC and mobile versions in the coming weeks.

FIFA 08 News - PS2 Preview

FIFA 08 News - PS2 PreviewRichard Melville over at Eurogamer previews FIFA 08 for the PlayStation 2 with EA Producer Paul Hossack.

So, while FIFA 08 is set to be dramatically reborn on next-gen platforms, FIFA 08 on PS2 is a solid, finely tuned finale to the series.

Producer Paul Hossack is keen to stress that, on his 7th FIFA, this is a very different game to the one appearing on PS3: "we're not told what to do, we're not looking at the next-gen version and doing the same. Internally, we see what they're doing but we get the chance to polish the core system we've been working on for seven years," he explains.

The key difference with 08 on PS2 is the custom-designed co-op mode. It's called Be A Pro Co-Op Season and it gives you and a mate the chance to pick a team member and play with a team of PS2-controlled players.

Elsewhere, there's tweaks designed solely to keep multiplayer matches exciting. When a throw in or free-kick occurs, you can hide the player selection marker, so your rival won't have a clue which way the ball is heading. It seems like a small touch, but in addition to the ability to take full control of the keeper, it gives the game a strategic edge that just wasn't there before.

Watching FIFA 08 in action, it looks more like a real match of football. Players make proper runs and keepers scramble to make saves instead of staring at the ball until a player enters the box.

Play feels more open, less on rails and - with the co-op mode - gives gamers the chance to learn what future 11-versus-11 multiplayer games might feel like in the future. "It's going to happen, it's part of the evolution towards 11-versus-11 matches" says Hossack, giving a teasing insight into how FIFA is rapidly evolving in the face of increased competition and the shift to next-gen.

On PS2, FIFA 08 is the most innovative game in the series yet. The overall structure, key gameplay and the new co-op mode all conspire to show how innovation in the beautiful game isn't exclusive to the bigger, shinier black brother of PS2.

Check out the full preview by clicking here and then post your thoughts by clicking here.

There were also 2 new images with this preview for the PS2, which we have added to our ever expanding FIFA 08 Gallery for you to check out by clicking here.

FIFA 08 News - Be a Pro Mode

FIFA 08 News - Be a Pro ModeGameSpot have reported that while the rest of EA Sports has borrowed the animations from FIFA, the soccer series isn't above borrowing some ideas from other games.

Since its migration to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the FIFA series has come to be the standard-bearer for player movement, so much so that practically all EA Sports games, from Madden to NBA Live, are now using the improved player animations that had their beginnings in the FIFA series.

Take, for instance, the new "Be a Pro" mode, a simplified, soccer-centric version of the Madden NFL series' superstar mode that will be available only in offline exhibition games in FIFA 08.

Here you'll play the position of one player - from striker to sweeper - on the field and will be responsible for his assignments and roles accordingly. As you play, the camera will follow you on the field (complete with a Gears of War-inspired chase cam when you break into a full sprint with the ball) and will pull back to show you more of the field to give you a general idea of where you need to be.

In addition, helpful arrows will show your areas of responsibility on the pitch and, additionally, which members of the opposite team you're assigned to cover.

At halftime you'll get a feedback on your progress as a player, and after the match is over, you'll be ranked depending on how much you contributed (which will also tie into the 360 version's achievements system).

While Be a Pro mode will be limited in FIFA 08 (no online play and only in exhibition mode), producers said they are very excited about the possibilities the feature holds for the future of the FIFA series. Specifically, they referred to the ultimate goal of having 11-on-11 play online in the series - something that's unfortunately still a few years away (but hopefully ready for the World Cup in 2010!).

What do you think of this Be a Pro feature? Post your thoughts by clicking here.

FIFA 08 News - 11-versus-11 FIFA by 2010 World Cup

FIFA 08 News - 11-versus-11 FIFA by 2010 World CupElectronic Arts hopes that FIFA will be able to support 11-versus-11 play in time for the 2010 World Cup - so that its "Virtual World Cup" will consist of each country's best 11 players competing side by side.

Speaking to Eurogamer, FIFA 08 producer Joe Booth unveiled this year's "Be A Pro" mode, which lays the foundations for 11-versus-11 play in the next two years. Be A Pro gives you control of one player on a football team, with reward systems built around how well you contribute to the team.

"In the long term we have big plans. We'd like for the 2010 World Cup to have a virtual World Cup at the same time, and build an organisation in each territory that finds the best 11 players and flies them out to South Africa, and have a full-on tournament there," Booth said.

FIFA 08 News - Interview with the Special One

FIFA 08 News - Interview with the Special OneTom Bramwell over at Eurogamer has been lucky enough to mark the start of their great FIFA 08 coverage with an interview with Joe Booth, producer on FIFA 08 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

FIFA 08 is taking shape, and it's a shape Eurogamer like. It's taking ball physics and simulation to new levels of fanciness, introducing a control-one-player-only mode, and developing a skill blending system that rivals the best beat-'em-ups for versatility of gaming expression. Among many other things.

Having shown them the game and let them play around with it, producer Joe Booth sat them down in one of EA Canada's swanky boardrooms and answered some more of their silly questions.
