Some news from the world of FIFAustralia

Help Needed
FIFAustralia (and Soccered) are soon to release the NSL Season 2001-2002 Patch in the near future, however they are trying to time the release of this patch with the start of the season in a few weeks, and to do this they need some help making things and getting some information. This is what they need:
  • some stadiums, 5 in total, or if you can do 1 it would be cool
  • team lists for the new season, if you know alot about a particular NSL club and know their squad for the upcoming season, send it in

Full details of what is in the patch is available at the FIFAustralia section. If you need pictures for the stadiums simply e-mail Gazza and he will send you some. Any help of any kind is greatly appreciated.

New Competition
There will be a competition for all those budding graphic designers out there. What you must do is design a new FIFAustralia header and logo for the site. Remember to include:

  • the site name
  • some player pics
  • in game pics (as in current header)
  • and whatever you feel is necessary
  • and it must have a transparent background (preferable).

For the logo, do whatever you like, but remember this site is Fifa 2001 and Fifa 2002 orientated. So get designing and send it to Gazza. The best design will be used for the site, and runners up will be announced on site, as well as the winner. Entries close 19th August 2001.

Brand New Section Opens
The new section has a chat room, quick quiz and a forum. You can access the new section of the site by visiting FIFAustralia.

Check out Gazza and the lads work over at FIFAustralia.

Inject new life into your Fifa games

As the start of another football season commences I thought it was a good time to pay our respects to the excellent work of a well known Fifa editor. Jochen Tree has been producing his excellent rosters now since 98 and over at his site Treebeard's Fifa Rosters you can obtain updated rosters for the following games:

His latest version for Fifa 2001 is v0.7 and v0.8 will be out at the end of August and we can no doubt expect it to be fully updated with all the close season transfers.

So its hats off to Jochen today and as he says on his site:

"if EA want to hire someone to make their FIFA games even more accurate, you know where I am..."

Never a truer word spoken as Treebeard's Roster series have provided the FIFA player with accurate and up to date rosters and we all appreciate it. Pay his site a visit now at the home of Treebeard's Fifa Rosters and get your Fifa games updated with an injection of TFR.

Canada Super Patch language issue resolved

If you have downloaded the Canada Super Patch and are having problems with the league name not showing then we have the solution for you.

Patch logo

The problem is that the language settings are not the same. Greg used FEd2001 and FIFA 2001 with "English" language settings to create the patch. In order for the Canada League and Team names to appear properly in the game, language settings must be set to "English" and saved in the 'options' menu.

Apologies as this should have been included in the Readme.txt file but we hope it does not diminish your enjoyment of this excellent patch. You can download the updated readme file from the Patches Database.

DSC, Top 25 online and a great new partnership

We are very proud to announce our latest partner agreement with the lads over at the excellent SoccerGameZ. SoccerGameZ is a Dutch news portal about SoccerGameZ and everything connected to them, news from magazines to websites.

Click here to visit the new home of Sweetpatch in DutchIt has great graphical and content quality and they have also started up a Dutch Sweetpatch MRA section specifically for posting all the latest patch news in Dutch.

SoccerGameZ has also launched their Download Switching Center (DSC). With this center they wish to be more interactive for the visitors as well as giving every download maker a good chance to publish their work. How does it work? EASY, you fill out a simple form, and your download is directly submitted to their database. One thing: people have to host their downloads themselves. At the add-form you simply fill in the url where the file is located. Take a look @ http://soccer.gamez.nl/download/ where you can find a Dutch and English version of the DSC.

They also recently launched a top 25. You probably have seen them before. The tables with hits in and out... They have set it up and in both Dutch and English versions. Check it out and see which sites are hot.

We are sure you will benefit in the future from this new partnership with SoccerGameZ. We are certainly very excited by it.

FIFAustralasia opens plus "Thank FIFA Gamers Week"

The new name for FIFAustralia is now FIFAustralasia, which will now incorporate New Zealand and the rest of the pacific as part of its operations. As a part of this name change, the site has been moved, with a revamped downloads and news section.

I'll let Gazza tell you the rest as he puts it so well:

"We know our site may be small, yet it is an integral part of the FIFA community, as is every "small" FIFA site out there, yet they all make a difference. This announcement is not just promoting my site, it is to all the FIFA gamers out there who want to put something back into the game, so get out there and make more sites, make more downloads, and for those who simply download files, visit sites and read reviews and articles, pay a thought to those who took their own time to help people like you.

So as a thought I have suggested a "Thank FIFA Gamers Week" to thank all the people who make our FIFA experience a little bit better. So it will be the first full week in August from August 5th to 11th. So what I suggest is to find out the e-mail addresses of your favourite FIFA add-ons and articles creators or writers and send them your thoughts and thank yous.

Don't be shy, this sort of encouragement will help FIFA gaming in the long run, and send in those e-mails on "Thank FIFA Gamers Week" August 5th to 11th".

I can only endorse Gazza's words as a lot of time and energy is put into all these sites providing you with many fantastic Fifa add-ons and patches. All we ask in return is a bit of feedback when requested as a way of saying "Thanks guys, what you do is worth it".

Check out this great new site over at FIFAustralasia.

Fifa 4 Players Domain & Host Change

Dominik Weber has mailed me to inform everyone that at FIFA 4 Players haven't changed a lot in the last month on their site, no news and no new downloads. The reason for this was the change of their host, from August onwards you can reach them at http://f4p.gamesbyte.de

This move may force them to lose their domain name and the name Fifa 4 Players (refer to their site for the latest info) but hopefully the hackers that targeted them wont strike again. Contact Dominik by email or by ICQ: 74366840.

Great Fantasy Kits Mega Pack

Shlomy Sharabani has very kindly sent us a great looking Mega Pack of 38 of his own developed kits. He has decided to provide these so people can officially use his kits in their patches as long as they give him the credit.

Click for larger image   Click for larger image

Shlomy will also soon be releasing his Latin American Stars Vs. Uefa European Stars patch which he has developed all the features, including the excellent faces. It will include:

  • kits
  • flags
  • badges
  • players faces

Shlomy needs some help as he has used FEd2001 to create this patch and when he has associated the faces with the players and then exports the team, the .TEA file has the wrong face against the wrong player. If anybody knows how to resolve this can you please e-mail Shlomy.

Meanwhile, you can download his excellent mega pack of kits direct from the Patches Database.
